Do you define success as having a lot of money? Or do you define success as being able to live your life the way you want to? Either way, they are both good things to strive for. We all know not everyone can be successful as there are checks and balances for winners and losers.
I truly feel most people want to be in on the winning side. However, we always run into people that remain in the same place in life. Do you feel you are you one of those people? Obviously if you’re a person looking and trying to better your life you want to be on the winning side.
Being successful can mean many things. My definition of being successful is accomplishing what you intend to do. For example, I always intended to have a family and I now have a great family. I consider myself very successful.
Success does not mean to look better than the people around you. I believe it comes from within and how you perceive yourself and your life. Success is something that you do not have to show on a daily basis. Success is how you live your life.
Create a Vision of Yourself
Having a vision is the first and most critical step of any successful plan. Create a vision of what you intend to do. Write down how you want to see yourself 1 year from now. Think about how your life will look. Having a vision will help you focus on what you want to achieve.
Take up Good Habits and Break Unproductive Habits
Always read and learn about the world around you. Think an opportunity through and do not be impulsive when an opportunity presents itself. Eat well and exercise. After all everything you do starts from within. Be in good health and don’t take your good health for granted. Add fitness to your life. Learn to handle distractions as there will plenty of distractions to address. Don’t use distractions as an excuse to fail.
Enjoy your road to success. The path will be filled with adversity. Keep your sense of humor because you may experience very tough challenges along the way. Be responsible, try and control your time by being as effective as possible.
Remember success is not free and it does take sacrifice. The price you pay is time and effort. Success is hard but rewarding (even during the chase for success). To be successful you have to work hard, educate yourself and maybe have a little luck on your side.

Advanced Business Tactics: Business Credit Manual: 2013 Corporate Credit Development
One of the hardest parts of running a home business is separating your work from your family and social life. Here are six proven ways to keep your home life running smoothly while keeping your business on track.
If you work from home, chances are you already know that you’re really pulling “double duty”. You probably work on your business while doing the laundry, corralling the kids, or fixing dinner… and let’s not forget all the phone calls from family and friends expecting you to run errands or just “go out” for an afternoon of fun.
1. First, create a work schedule and stick with it. It may be tempting to answer personal calls during the day or take business calls after-hours, but doing this actually shows that you’re expendable – not dependable – and people will take for granted that you’ll “always be there” for any little things that come up. Even though family comes first, stay true to your business hours and resist the urge to chat with friends or pick up groceries during working hours.
2. Your friends may consider “working from home” an invitation to chat during the day or just go out for coffee or shopping for an afternoon. Make it clear that your business hours are just that – for business. Leave personal calls for after-hours, and you’ll find that your friends will gradually accept your schedule without feeling slighted.
3. Just because you have to set up a work schedule, doesn’t mean that you have to keep the same hours as everyone else. One of the benefits of working for yourself is setting your own hours to fit your most productive times. Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, you’ll find that you’ll get much more done when you’re attuned to your body’s own natural rhythms. Some people work in the morning, take a break in the afternoon when the kids are home from school, and work again in the evening. Schedule your work time when you feel the most productive and you’ll find that things get done easier, faster and better than when you were dragging along during those same rigid work hours that everyone else has.
4. If getting after-hours business calls or work day personal calls is a problem, it helps to have a separate business phone line, or at least an answering machine or voice mail, to take the incoming calls. This also gives your business a more professional appearance to clients than if you and your family make and receive calls from the same phone line.
5. If at all possible, try to separate your “home office” from the rest of your home. If you don’t have the luxury of a separate room, a room partition or screen can be just as helpful. This also serves as a visual cue to family that you’re working and shouldn’t be bothered.
6. Dress and act professionally while working. Some people find it helpful to dress in casual business attire during their working hours. This reinforces that just because you’re working from home doesn’t make you any less of a professional. Answer the phone with your name, or business name, and keep your children off the phone during business hours. Also, spend money investing in the tools you need to do your job right. A cell phone, fax machine or even a budget computer can help turn your home office into a true workspace.
If you follow all of these tips and stick with them, chances are you’ll find a routine that not only makes you feel productive and active in your business, but also projects the message that you mean business – literally!

The baby boomer generation is like no other before it or after it. Technically, we are considered middle-aged, but we are anything but middle-aged in mind, body and spirit. A business coach has long played a big part in how many businesses survive in this rapidly changing business world. But some people still wonder what the big deal is when it comes to hiring them. Some ask why these individuals needed and for how long? What are the benefits of taking them on others ask.
For such people, the information below should be able to answer their many questions and hopefully make them see the value that business mentoring and coaching is injected into the business world. They might also understand why certain businesses are always thriving and why others are not.
The first thing that coaches bring in any business is better resource management. Top business owners in fact use these coaches as a secret weapon. This is because these coaches do help a lot when it comes to the use of finances. For them, there is no reason for a business to spend money where it is not necessary. Knowing where money is needed the most, and where it can be cut, is thus pretty important. This will in the long ran allow for more profits come in.
It can also be pretty difficult for some businesses, especially if they are taking on a new project, just starting out, or growing too quickly set out their schedules in an organized manner. Many find themselves spending several hours a day working on one thing, neglecting everything else that needs to be tackled. When a coach is used, a business is better equipped to handle its various tasks. The business is able to come up with a schedule that works for the employees and the bottom line overall as there is no reason for people to feel overwhelmed and stressed.
These coaches are also able to inject a fresh perspective into the business. This is because when the same people are working on something day in and day out, it can become tiring and boring. They may become so used to something that they are unable to find anything fresh and new, no matter what they do. When the coach is introduced, a new pair of eyes enters the workforce. The coach can add their own opinions into the mix, bringing about ideas that may not have occurred to anybody before. It does not hurt to have a different angle or and perspective introduced into a business. After all, having constant ideas is what makes businesses thrive in this very competitive world.
That is why the coach in this context is a business best friend. They have the business interest at a heart and like the captain of a ship, will always stay on till the end. Employees on the other hand will come and go depending on the offers for jobs out there and as soon as they realize that the business is facing an imminent collapse, they will often bolt like a jilted lover.

As I pushed against the pedals of my bike during a recent bike (spin) class at the gym, I observed my own discomfort rise as the intensity of the class increased. Confronted with both physical and emotional discomfort, I became consciously aware that I had two primary choices in response to my pain. Each of these responses would impact differently on my outcome and results. So what result could I expect to achieve by stepping out of my comfort zone?
Placed under pressure, my physical body responded by ‘heating up’ – my breathing became shallower and faster, my legs began to ache, and beads of sweat erupted over my body, slowing dripping off my face in steady drops onto the floor below. As I reached for a towel to wipe my face and momentarily recover, I realized that I was now experiencing emotional discomfort as well.
As my physical discomfort intensified, so did my emotional discomfort. I experienced feelings of doubt as to whether I could continue with the level of intensity, and feelings of wanting to disconnect and/or quit from the physical discomfort I was experiencing.
In response to being pushed outside of my comfort zone, my two choices or responses to this situation became immediately apparent.
One choice was to ‘back off’ or slow down, and thereby reduce and/or minimize my discomfort. If I took this choice, I knew I could experience returning to a place of physical comfort, where my body ‘cooled’ down and relaxed, and also to a place where my emotions would return to a calmer state.
The other choice I faced was to notice and accept my discomfort, but to decide that I would continue regardless. In this decision I understood I could continue to experience discomfort (for a temporary period), and perhaps even face the possibility that the intensity of discomfort would increase.
To determine my choice, I asked the question: “What is my intent in taking this class? What are the results I’m looking to achieve?”
Is it to experience exercising comfortably – knowing that by not extending or pushing my limits, there was a good possibility that my level of fitness and physical shape would remain unchanged (or be very minimal)?
Is my intention to experience change and growth in terms of my physical fitness and shape, knowing that in order to achieve this I would likely need to push my current physical comfort boundaries?
Relative to my short and long-term goals for the class, (which in this instance was to increase my fitness), making the choice to ‘push’ through my discomfort and persist with that temporarily, was more likely to produce the result I was after.
I decided the ‘uncomfortable’ choice was more in alignment with my intention, so I chose this in preference to remaining ‘comfortable’ throughout the class.
In my opinion, there was no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answer faced with the above choices. Rather, simply an awareness of whether the choice made was in alignment with the end result I wished to experience.
So why would you want to step out of your own comfort zone?
When you’re next exercising – be it walking the dog, exercising at home or at the gym – why not ask yourself this question to provide you with the answer.
‘What is my intention by participating in this particular exercise?’
This question really works for anything!
What is the intention and what is the purpose are key to successful planning.
If your own intention is purely for pleasure or recreation, then you may be quite willing to create the experience where your exercise is comfortable and painless.
If however you are looking to produce change at a physical or fitness level, consider the possibility that experiencing some discomfort may be necessary in order for you to achieve these results.
All of this can be related to business and using a business coach if you think about it for a few minutes!
A good business coach will help you move out of your old comfort zone to create a new threshold in your path to success!
